Riseley Street Roundabout Public Art Coordination

Apparatus is working with the City of Melville to develop a gateway artwork for the Riseley Street Activity Centre. The site identified for the artwork is in the roundabout road reserve at the intersection of Riseley and Willcock Streets. The City of Melville’s vision is for a bold, gateway artwork with strong vertical elements and integrated lighting. The roundabout is highly visible, high-traffic location, and the artwork will require specific design and engineering requirements to ensure it is fit for purpose. Far East Consortium Public Art Coordination

The Far East Consortium are proposing the development of two sites in the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s Perth City Link Project Area. Situated at the western end of the Perth City Link, between the Perth Arena and Kings Square and Wellington Street and Roe Street, these new development sites will help to knit together Perth’s CBD and Northbridge, Yagan Square and the Arena. Lot 2, fronting Wellington Street, is planned to be a uniquely designed, thirty-level contemporary apartment complex. Midland Oval Redevelopment Public Art + Interpretation Plan

The City of Swan’s Midland Oval Redevelopment is a major mixed-use development comprising residential high rise, commercial, retail, civic and community facilities. The Midland Oval Precinct Development will realise the long held potential of the centre of Midland, with new dwellings, restaurants, offices, shops, a library and a vibrant town centre. Overall, redevelopment of the Precinct is expected to deliver: up to 1,000 new dwellings 20,000 square metres of new retail floor space 6,000 square metres of restaurants and almost 90,000 square metres of new office floor space. The project will provide excellent employment opportunities for the City of Swan.

East Fremantle is a heritage-rich municipality nestled on the stunning banks of the Swan River. Riverside Public Art Strategy

The MRA’s Riverside redevelopment is intended to revitalise the gateway to the city by transforming the area into a cosmopolitan waterfront community and tourist destination. The area will feature a new inlet, urban beach, hotels and short stay accommodation, landscaped boardwalks, public art, walkways, cycle paths, a river playground, local shops and is set to become an exciting sports, recreation and entertainment precinct. Riverside sits across 40ha of land which encompasses Trinity College, Queens Gardens, the West Australian Cricket Association (WACA), Gloucester Park and the banks of the Swan River. Apparatus was commissioned by the MRA to undertake research and consultation to develop a new Riverside.

Liv Apartments Public Art Coordination

The Liv Apartments are a contemporary new apartment complex comprising three uniquely designed buildings located in the new East Side of Fremantle, Western Australia. Commissioned by Defence Housing Australia (DHA), the development will feature 166 apartments and approximately 1,300m2 of commercial space – including DHA’s own Western Australian office – as well as landscaped courtyards with edible gardens for the residents plus cafes and restaurants for locals and residents alike. Designed by award-winning international design firm Hassell, Liv has luxurious materials and finishes and two street frontages on Queen Victoria Street and Quarry Street. Koombana Bay Interpretation and Public Art Plan

Since 2014 the South West Development Commission (SWDC) have been developing the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront Project to deliver a world class waterfront providing a major destination for locals and visitors that extends from Koombana Bay in the east to Casuarina Boat Harbour and the Bunbury Outer Harbour to the west. The project will provide landscaped community spaces, foreshore commercial and residential developments, a thriving marine precinct and a redevelopment of the Dolphin Discovery Centre. The redevelopment of the Koombana Bay Foreshore is the first stage of this significant project for Bunbury and will create a regionally significant coastal recreational area within the Greater Bunbury region. Weld Square: Celebrating the Coolbaroo League

Weld Square is parkland located in the heart of inner city Northbridge, a relaxing natural space with a fascinating history. Apparatus was engaged by the City of Vincent to help develop a public artwork for Weld Square that celebrates the Aboriginal community. Weld Square was, and still is, a popular meeting place for Aboriginal people. The park is close by to where the Coolbaroo League developed a strong voice for the Aboriginal community. The League started up a social club for Aboriginal people holding weekly dances; set up the Coolbaroo Aboriginal shop of souvenirs and art, the first Noongar business.

Cottesloe Foreshore Redevelopment

Cottesloe Beach is a Western Australian icon, recognised as the most popular beach in Perth, and a place to go for visitors to Western Australia. Apparatus was employed on the Cardno design team to undertake the public art and interpretive elements of the Cottesloe Foreshore Renewal Masterplan. The Town of Cottesloe intends to redevelop the public spaces of the Cottesloe Foreshore in conjunction with the growing interest in private development. In addition, the Town desires to create a safe and vibrant public space that is sympathetic to its heritage as a place with significant social and Indigenous history. The Interpretation.
