APPARATUS is calling for EOIs from artists/artist teams interested in the design and delivery of a significant new artwork at Elizabeth Quay.

The intention is for this work to be one of collaborative exploration – acknowledging the shared history of the space and revealing past stories.

This medium scale artwork may be a series or a stand-alone piece. Instantly recognisable, the artwork will become a key element associated with 1TE.

The artwork will provide a significant view-hold to identify the site from The Esplanade; and will assist with wayfinding.

The artwork should embody the idea of energy and celebrate our shared future.

The nature of the artwork is in essence about celebrating a shared future, so Artists are advised to include a Noongar artist or cultural advisor in the Artist Team.

The artwork commission fee is $600,000, with $5,000 offered to shortlisted artists for preparation of an Artwork Concept Proposal (ACP).

The materials for this significant artwork must be sophisticated, high end, and durable for at least 50 years.

This EOI is open to Australian Artists.

EOI’s are due by 2pm Tuesday 4 May.
